Ludwig Klaus Persik, Brooklyn, NY

Age: 22
Occupation/Study: My every breath is musical. I’m currently studying Music Theory & Composition at Hunter College, and when I’m not at school, I’m working on music with my band, Public School — Download our free ep here — http://www.publicschool.bandcamp.com.
My good friend Emiliano Ortiz and I have been writing music for the last year dependently, and independently, and we’ve decided to finally put our heads together and slap a band name over our hard work. We’re playing one of our first shows Saturday, December 17th at Tammany Hall with our high school buddies Dandu. I’m so excited, those guys can really rip, and they’re also in our band!
Besides that, I’ve lent my hands and ears to many awesome musical hangs like Jailbait (featuring members of A.R.E Weapons, and the Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black), my bluegrass band the Holster Sisters, Pegasus Warning, Reni Lane, Grand Rapids, Luke Rathborne, Lissy Trullie, as well as having toured the world last year with R&B abstractionist, Jamie Lidell (with whom I am currently producing an album of my music at his burgeoning Westwood Studios in Nashville, Tennessee). I can’t exactly nail what kind of music I have an affinity for — I’d like to think it’s amazing in it’s ability to be forward thinking/feeling.

Favorite hangouts: School has been keeping my nightlife to a minimum, but whenever I go out, it’s usually on wednesday nights. My gang and I make our rounds at St. Dymphna’s on St. Mark’s Place, and then we head on over to my friend JR + Nelleke’s dance party, Soft Opening, at Lit — quality hangs with serious babes. I don’t change routine much, so if you need to find me, you can count on that night for an optimal lurk.
